Councillor Bethia Thomas

takes on the Thames Path.

My name is Bethia Thomas and I am a County and District Councillor for Faringdon and its surrounding villages in the Vale of White Horse. A few months ago I decided to walk in support of Lowland Rescue Oxfordshire to raise funds and awareness for this vital volunteer run emergency service, creating a twenty six mile route from Oxford to Eaton Hastings along the Thames Path.

Late last year one of my residents was involved in a tragedy, and while the Lowland Rescue could not save her life in this instance they were there to support her family bringing them comfort when they needed it most. Since then I have discovered more about the organisation and what it does for our communities, and wanted to do something to support them and so am asking for your help.

If you can spare anything to towards this cause I would appreciate your support in my marathon walk.

Along the way I will also be flying the flag for related organisations that are close to my heart, Active Oxfordshire, The Thames Path National Trail and The Firefighters’ Charity.

All the best,

Bethia.
